I’ve just done a book with Local Heroes, encouraging women to go into trades.
Amazingly, recent research by Local Heroes and British Gas shows that only 13%
of primary school age girls choose jobs like plumber or electrician, compared
to 43% of boys!
And if asked to draw a builder, just 7% of children would draw a woman.
So I’ve told a story about a Dan, whose mum is an electrician… it involves floods
and a missing cat…
